Key Tips
-
Prep
- Rinse and blanch the shirataki noodles, then drain well. Cut them into bite-sized lengths with kitchen shears to make them easier to eat.
-
Prep
- Pre-mixing the sauce ingredients (sake, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar) beforehand ensures a smooth stir-frying process.
-
Heat & Order
- Stir-fry the shirataki noodles on their own first, season with sake, salt, and soy sauce, then remove them from the pan. This helps the noodles absorb the flavors thoroughly.
-
Stir-fry Order
- Stir-fry the bamboo shoots first, return the shirataki to the pan, and add the bell peppers last to maintain a perfect balance of textures.
-
Finishing
- Pour in the sauce just as the bell peppers begin to soften, and stir-fry to combine. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil to enhance the aroma.
